as the yellow line train heads to Virginia
(c) 2017 by margaux delotte-bennett

I will never not look at water
always transfixed
double negative betwixt
and between
feelings felt
and seen

like a magnet
fluid currents draw my eyes
demand attention

calm or fast
narrow or wide
it lulls me still
it moves me deep
it makes my breath flow
just so

prayer manifest
pensive petitions parcelled
into drops
messages set adrift
without the bottle
and cork

just in the know with the ebb and flow

I’m always compelled to look
line
sinker
hook
