weaving

the up and down motion
the in and out path
working distinct bits
into a new pattern

no longer wanting to be separated
no longer finding a need to
solely stand
as solitary strands
now part of a picture perfect
motion filled
whole

the up and down motion
the in and out path
a loom is not always needed
to generate a dance
of fibers twirling
twisting through
resting above as they spin below

the threads no longer riding on the wind
they want to find their place
know their role
in the woven sample
of the fabric
of life

this knot
has its purpose

this loose string
tells a story

this color rich existence
is reflected through the experiences
that have lent texture and hue
to this moment

up and down motions
in and out paths

are we the weaver or the woven?
the cloth or the thread?

will we ever understand that this yarn
has no starting or ending points
just this place of
under and over
gathered together
a cloth that drapes
like a fine tapestry over this life
