let it all unfold
© 2013 by margaux delotte-bennett

when we “let it all unfold”
we
let go of the reigns
that we never fully had a grip on

we
are patient enough to allow the lesson to become visible
in its own time
at its own pace
through its own means

we
resist putting too much weight on the beginning
because there is so much more about to
come around the corner
as we let
it all
unfold

unfolding is the act of
opening
spreading out
stretching
so that what is within
can bask in the revelation
can be disclosed or discovered
no longer bent and diminished in size

unfolding is the act of
standing more firmly
upright and bold
no longer bowing down or playing small
because it makes their lives easier

my heart hopes
to learn the full lesson
to see the full picture
as it is and as it should be
while I let it all unfold
and stay true
to the mystery
