it is almost my birthday!

and i wonder if that has something to do with how fascinated i have been with doorways, especially the beautifully poetic images taken by my friend martin. i know that this is going to be a big year for me and i feel like i am on the brink of passing through, passing over, overpassing… this piece is brand new. i hope you like it as much as i do.

the door of tomorrow
a poetic conversation between margaux delotte-bennett & martin eisen

the door of tomorrow has hopes and dreams

aspirations to be walked through
slammed shut
ignored

slammed shut on what is and
kicked open for what could be
tomorrow’s door
has hopes
it also has dreams

in our hands we find control
slipping through our fingers
always
in all
ways
slipped

finding control slipping
we are empowered
sensing this slip
we are free

wandering and wondering
through any door
slammed shut
kicked open
half-closed
never broken

half open to half life
lived?

fully open to full life
loved?

closed in ways unseen
so that we are really open
towards our dreams?

the door of tomorrow
is actually the pathway of today
it is time to walk on
time to dance
time to play
