vessel
(C) 2012 by margaux delotte-bennett

gaping mouthed
hollow bellied empty
longing to be filled
laying claim to all the
scattered bits
in one place
gathered to have
collected to hold

upon being put to use
the vessel fulfills its purpose
lives out the dream
destined
until done

the sum of the parts
now poised with purpose
potent in their prime
finally
full and
filled

I read this
Thought through it in multiple ways
delighted selfishly at myself
so I stopped and picked one
It was a good one.

Nice

the vessel the piece refers to shifted for me throughout the writing and the editing process (even from line to line). I like that and I’m happy that as a reader the same happened for you…
